Finding that perfect used car part...

My favorite episodes of the 90's TV Show, Home Improvement always centered on main character, Tim Taylor working on the various car remodels.

Whole episodes would be devoted to finding the perfect used auto part for the Hotrod or whatever latest car project

Bumbling Tim may not have been the best Handy Man, but he knew his cars.  Having his three son's pitch in from time to time made for some good family moments, but for me ... the stars of the show were always the cars.  My favorite being the start to finish of the hot rod build.

From finding and building the used engine to the whole episode devoted to the grille, the hot rod was as much a part of the show as weird neighbor Wilson.

Thankfully, finding the perfect used auto parts is a lot easier with the massive growth of the Internet,  Sites like Everdrive.com allow you to simply type in a model and year to start your search.  Top quality and Guarantees remove the problems of low grade used parts of the past.

One of the biggest advantages to restoring a vehicle is that you can take your time, it doesn't have to be done in a day.  Tim Taylor took several years over several seasons to finish his projects.  Each new step became a new milestone for Tim and his sons to celebrate.

A hobby that has no pressure, can be shared with your family, yet doesn't require you to wear stupid outfits, well maybe the coveralls are a bit stupid but at least they're not "tennis shorts".
